Who is Culinary Competitor?

Culinary Competitor was created by Casey Weaver. Casey is an elite triathlete turned cyclist and grew up in the kitchen under the instruction of his mom and grandmother, who taught cooking classes and had a catering company. Casey took to food at an early age and quickly developed a great sense for pairing flavors and creating unique dishes.

When he became involved in endurance sports he realized the enormous role proper nutrition plays in optimum performance and overall health. Though he takes his racing much less serious today, he still loves going fast and bumping bars in a sprint finish at the velodrome or in a local criterium.

If there is a solid swell he’ll leave the bike at home, grab a board, and go for a surf at any of North LA County’s beaches. When there are no waves and he’s itching to get wet, he’ll settle for spearfishing or lobster diving—and with whatever his catch, he’s bringing it home, cracking some beers, and rounding up the crew for a feast.
